"If We Ignore History, We Are Doomed to Repeat It."

"Nonviolence is the weapon of the strong." ... Mahatma Ghandi

I beg you to notice that what differentiates the music video "Neda's Eyes" from all of the other wonderful and clearly accurate musical docudramas associated with the struggle for democracy and freedom in Iran, is reflected in the second half of the music video:

"Tyranny to you is not a new thing,
Tyrants are not a new thing.
Before Ahmadinejad there was Saddam Hussein,
Kim Jong Il, Milosevic and of course the Devil.
Each of whom had their own schemes."

The lyrics and images reflect that the current regime in Iran has created a tinderbox in which aggression, suppression, and human suffering are used as weapons.  While we do not have a solution, we wonder if Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. or Mahatma Gandhi were alive, what would they propose, since aggression and counter-aggression does nothing more than increase suffering and pain.
